About me

I come from Zlaté Moravce, where I studied at the Janko Král High School. Already during my high school studies, I was interested in the topics of equality and human rights, which is why after my graduation I went to study political sciences. First at the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, and then at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Versailles-St.Quentin-En-Yvelines. After these studies, I worked for a year as an intern at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights in Vienna, at the communications and outreach department. Here I worked on a project dedicated to raising awareness on the grievances and rights violations of LGBTIQ persons in the European Union. After this experience, I decided to pursue a research career and applied for doctoral studies at the Institute for European Studies and International Relations, Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava. During my doctoral studies, I began to actively focus on the topic of gender-based violence and sexual violence, as my thesis concerned policies addressing these issues. Since the beginning of my academic career, I have been part of several domestic and international research projects. I consider research work to be important for social change, however being an active educator and activist is equally important to me in the Slovak environment. That is why I am not only invested in research, but I also work as a lecturer for the public and the private sector in the area of workplace equality. My lecturing work in the higher education sector focuses primarily on sexuality. At the Faculty of Education of the Comenius University I currently teach two courses dedicated to academic writing, as well as Introduction to Gender Studies, Current issues of citizenship, and Introduction to Sexual Education.
